(WXYZ) - Police have found the body of a missing Detroit man who disappeared in the waters off Harsens Island Friday morning.

Officials called off the search for 21-year-old Jose Louis Salazar earlier in the evening.

Police say Salazar, his fiance and three children were swimming in the area of Mayberry Bridge shortly before 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Salazar jumped into the water from the bridge and never surfaced. Police say the water in the area is 8 to 10 feet deep.

Clay Township Police and the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Marine Division and Dive Team  searched for the man. They were assisted by the US Border Patrol, US Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and South water rescue.

Also on the scene were the Ira Township Fire Department, Harsens Island Fire Department, Clay Township Fire Department and Algonac Fire Department.
