ANN ARBOR, Mich (WXYZ) - Members of St. Mary’s Church and friends of Lourdes Salazar marched through the streets of Ann Arbor.  They held a rally, a vigil and a prayer service for the mother of 3 who’s been ordered back to Mexico.

Through tears, Lourdes begged the government not to deport her, like they did her husband. She wants to be allowed to stay here with her three children.

“I am not a criminal,” she said “please help me”.

They lit candles for Lourdes who’s been in the U.S. for 14 years.  She’s worked here, had her children here and while she isn’t legal right now she says she loves this country and wants to become a citizen.

Carrying signs of hope, members of the church led the supporters out of the church doors for the march and back inside to sign petitions.

Protesters signed petitions that will be sent to Washington.

The petitions will be sent to Washington but if they don’t help Lourdes and her three children will leave for Mexico on the deportation date of December 27th.
