PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) will hold a news conference Wednesday to announce a federal lawsuit against Pittsfield Township for the denial of zoning of an Islamic school.
The Township Board of Trustee denied a plan for a new Islamic school proposed on a residential property in October, citing traffic issues in the area.
Critics claim the school's constitutional rights have been violated.
