Detroit (WXYZ) - A fire broke out overnight at the Woodcreek Apartments in Ypsilanti Township, not far from Prospect and Forest Avenue.

Crews were able to knock out the fire pretty fast.

About 8 units were damaged, mostly from the smoke and water. The people who live there have no been allowed back yet.

Witnesses say the fire may have been sparked by a firebomb. Investigators have not confirmed this.

A dog was killed in the fire but there were no other injuries.
