YPSILANTI, Mich. (WXYZ) - Federal, State, Washtenaw County and local police agencies are comparing notes in another round of random shootings at people driving in that area.
Police now confirm to 7 Action News that they've connected 3 shootings that happened Monday evening to the same shooter by recovering bullet fragments.
A man and a woman driving separately and alone on Austin Road between Schneider and Ernst Road in Bridgewater Township were both shot at once at about 5:45 Monday evening.
Then within 45 minutes, and 10 to 15 miles away, a 72-year-old woman was driving on Michigan Avenue east of Industrial in Pittsfield Township when her car was shot once.
Nobody was injured.
Police say they do not have a good description of the shooter or a car and are asking anyone with information to call a tip line number or Crimestoppers. The tip line number has not yet been determined. Crimestoppers can be reached at 1 (800) SPEAK UP.
In that case a man living with his in-laws in Wixom, Raulie Casteel, has been charged with domestic terrorism and his two cases are headed to trial.
