INKSTER, Mich (WXYZ) - A 22-year-old Inkster woman has been charged with child abuse after a toddler, reported to be her niece, fell out of her moving vehicle and she says she didn't even know it. Family members say the little girl was pushed out of the SUV by her 3-year-old brother who opened the door.

It happened Saturday night.  Police and prosecutors say Patricia Denard had her two children and two nephews in an older model SUV, only a 10-month-old was in a child restraint.

Investigators say as Denard rounded the corner of Beech and Fox the back door flew open and the little girl flew out.  A passerby stopped to help the injured child and called 911 .

Police say 15 minutes later Denard returned to the corner.  Police came and took Denard in for questioning.

Investigators say Denard has a history of driving violations and State officials say she has no driver's license.  Beyond the criminal charges, Child Protective Services has been notified.
