DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit mother accused of fatally stabbing her 8-year-old daughter, Tameria Greene, will be in court today for a preliminary hearing.

Semeria Greene, 26, will be in 36th District Court at 1:30 p.m.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kim L. Worthy charged Greene with Felony Murder and Child Abuse First Degree earlier this month.

The Felony Murder charge carries a penalty of mandatory life in prison without parole. A Child Abuse First Degree charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years.

Worthy's spokeswoman, Maria Miller, has advised that Ms. Greene be sent for a psychiatric evaluation. She will be in court today also.

Tameria Greene died of a fatal stab wound to the chest area on December 30, 2012.
