(WXYZ-Allen Park) - Detroit and Allen Park Police are now working together in the homicide investigation involving a man and woman found dead in a canal off the Detroit River on Tuesday. Sources tell Action News the victims are from Allen Park.
Friday morning Allen Park Police continued to collect evidence in connection to their deaths at a home on Anne Avenue. They would not say how the home is linked to their deaths.
Detroit Police Chief Ralph L. Godbee, Jr. and Allen Park Police Chief James Willkewitz say they will answer questions about the investigation Friday afternoon at a press conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
According to autopsy reports the man and woman were shot to death before they were dismembered and dumped in the waterway.
Police were not releasing their identities, but said they are white and in their 30s or 40s.
