Anonymous Highland Park citizans donate new fire truck to the city

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - It was an unexpected gift from two ordinary people who just want to help the City of Highland Park.

The two donors want to remain anonymous, but their $350,000 gift of a brand new fire truck is no longer a secret to the people who have seen too much of their city burn.

Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp stood in front of the new fire truck and told the crowd, "Thank God for those two citizens that were kind enough to help this city fight fires."

Michael Adams sat on his porch Tuesday afternoon with his granddaughter. He realizes that most people helped by the new fire truck will never know the donors by name or face. Adams told Action News, "That's a lot of money and they should be commended for that because not a lot of people know that they did that."

Firefighters will undergo several days of training before the new truck in put into operation.
