GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - The attorney for Bob Bashara tells 7 Action News that he is convinced that the court appointed attorney for Joe Gentz is involved in negotiations with the Wayne County Prosecutor's office concerning possible charges.
David Griem says he is saddened by that because "Joseph Gentz has shown himself to be an unreliable witness."
The Wayne County Prosecutor's office is not commenting on that, only saying that there are no new developments today.
The attorney appointed to represent Gentz, Susan Reed, told 7 Action News that she does not comment on active or ongoing cases.
In the meantime Gentz's brother is speaking out in an interview with ABC News. Gentz's brother talked about the man he knows and why he thinks he would have participated in such a crime.
Gentz went to police last week to tell investigators that he was involved in the killing of Jane Bashara and he reportedly claimed Bob Bashara is the one who orchestrated his wife's death.
The day after Jane Bashara's body was found in her Mercedes Benz on Detroit's east side, her husband talked to Action News.
Bob Bashara said, “I believe that she was out running an errand and doing something and someone either carjacked her, kidnapped her, did something like that”.
“It’s just unthinkable that this happened to her and what she had to suffer. I am just so upset about it”, said Bashara.
