Bob Bashara's family asks police for protection from Joe Gentz

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Bob Bashara's sister spoke with the media just hours after the man who walked into a police station and implicated her brother in his wife Jane's murder was released from custody.
Laura Maurer says she told officers that they were concerned that police had released Joe Gentz from custody . 7 Action News sources have told us that Gentz told police he played a role in Jane Bashara's murder and the Bob Bashara was also involved.
Grosse Pointe Park police have not commented on why Gentz was released from custody. However, under Michigan law police are only allowed to keep someone in custody for 72 hours.
Maurer told reporters that police told them to call 911 if they feel they are in danger from Gentz.
