Bob Bashara formally arraigned on murder-for-hire charges

(WXYZ) - Bob Bashara had to face a judge Tuesday morning for some unfinished business. He is expected to be arraigned on murder-for-hire charges in Wayne County Circuit Court.

The arraignment was put off last week to give his new attorney time to prepare for the case. Few words were spoken as Bashara and his new attorney, Mark Kriger addressed the court. They waved their right to hear the charges.

Bashara is charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill his former handyman Joe Gentz.

Gentz is charged with killing Bashara's wife Jane and has reportedly told police Bashara forced him to strangle her at gunpoint.

After the arraignment, when asked for his thoughts on the case, Mark Kriger declined stating he does not comment on active cases saying, "it wouldn't be right."
