Bob Bashara's alleged mistress weighs in on Bashara murder investigation

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Rachel Gillett and Bob Bashara were living the life of a happy couple, sources tell us. The two even took a photo together at Rachel’s daughter’s wedding just before new year's 2012.

But since Jane Bashara’s murder Gillett is remaining silent, while Bob is doing interviews – professing his innocence and dodging questions about Rachel.

“I’m not going to comment (on the affair) because it has nothing to do with the case,” Bob Bashara said in an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Action News obtained Gillett’s phone number and reached out to her. While she would not speak with us on the phone, Gillett spoke with us via text. We asked her why she has not talked publicly about the case.

“No one wants my side. I've already been judged by the public and media. Remember Amber Frey?" Gillett said via text.

Frey was the girlfriend and mistress of Scott Peterson, the man convicted of murdering his wife and dumping her body in the San Francisco Bay.

In another text Gillett said:

"(Bob Bashara) is fighting for his life. I am just trying to live mine in peace and heal," Gillett said via text.
