Carnival rides, food, music, and fireworks are at Taylor Heritage Days June 27-July 1

TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The weekend long music festival Taylor Heritage Days is back with fireworks from 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. June 27 through July 1.

Taylor Heritage Days is hosted by multiple radio stations that will broadcast shows from the event at the Heritage Park Festival site along with music from tribute bands.

Sunday, July 1 will hold multiple free attractions including the Fish and Loves "Happy Soles 5K race," at 7:30 a.m.,  the Taylor Rotary Kids Fishing Derby beginning at 9:00 a.m., and the Miss Downriver Scholarship Pageant at 10:00a.m.

An APBA Gold Cup hydroplane will make an appearance and tickets for the race on the Detroit River will be sold.

Admission to the carnival grounds is free but admission to the gated festival grounds at Heritage Park is currently $5.00 if you pre-order them online . They are also available at WalMart in Taylor. Admission is $10.00 the day of the show and children 12 or younger are free with a paid adult.

There is a parking fee and the event is always looking for volunteers and community members to help out.

Items not allowed at the festival include bottles, cans, glass, coolers, grills, open fires, animals, weapons, and alcohol though beer will be available for purchase.
