Two workers injured in construction accident in Augusta Township

AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - A construction worker is in serious condition after being hurt in an accident while working at Lincoln Consolidated High School in Augusta Township.
The worker was hurt when a roof beam collapsed and fell into an elevator pit.
He was rescued by the Augusta Township Fire Department and taken by a survival flight to St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor.
A second worker also fell when the beam gave way, but he was protected by a safety harness. That worker did suffer an arm injury and is expected to be all right.
The accident is under investigation.
