DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A $2000 reward is being offered for the return of a stolen dog that was taken from a woman's house during a home break-in.
Brandi Person is desperately hoping someone will return her Bichon Maltese named Stanley.
Pearson says she knew something wasn't right when she came home from her lunch break last Thursday. She usually hears Stanley barking when she comes but on that day her house was silent.
"The garage wouldn’t open, and I noticed the window in the kitchen was open and the blinds were down, the curtains hanging out," Brandi told Action News. She went to a neighbor’s home and called 911, certain her house had been broken into.
Inside her house on N. Evangeline, every room was ransacked. Pearson's lawnmower, laptop and jewelry were among the items that were stolen, but worst of all, her furry friend was gone. "I don’t care about all of my belongings; I just would like to have Stanley back."
Stanley is a 5-year-old Bichon Maltese mix. He's beige and has allergies, so he gnaws on his paws, which have an orange tint. Contact Dearborn Heights Police with information at 313-277-6770.
