CANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - A rescue dog is being hailed a hero after fire swept through a home.
The dog’s owner Teresa Daniels says she was inside her house in Canton when her Yorkshire Terrier “Grady” started acting up.
Teresa says Grady was going crazy for about an hour and a half. Teresa finally went looking around the house to see what was going on.
That’s when she saw smoke everywhere in her backyard.
Grady followed Teresa upstairs while she was checking her home. She discovered that her attic was on fire.
“From what the Fire Marshall told me if it had not been for him, the fire been burning for 2 hours before they even got here… if it had not been for him alerting me... and if I'd just stayed downstairs relaxing like I was doing... I probably would not be here... nor would my dogs." Said Teresa.
Teresa says Grady has alerted her to a fire before.
At this point, it appears it was an electrical fire.
