ALLEN PARK (WXYZ) - Days after the body parts of an Allen Park couple were found in the Detroit River, their families are remembering the dreams the couple shared.

Chris Hall, 42, and Danielle Greenway, 32, were shot to death before their dismembered bodies were dumped in the Detroit River. A 39-year-old man is now in police custody. Sources tell Action News that man once dated Danielle and had recently moved in with the couple as they tried to help him get back on his feet.

“They were starting a new life,” said Lila Greenway, Danielle’s mother, over the phone.  The couple wasn’t engaged, but there had been talk of getting married and starting a family. “He was a good man,” Greenway said, speaking of her would-be son-in-law.

Hall’s family honored the service he did for the country. A sibling, who wished to remain anonymous, said he served in the Navy for six years during two wars. They said the electrician was a soft-spoken, shy and handsome man.

Police are still searching for Danielle’s missing van, which might’ve been used to transport the bodies before they were dumped into the river.  Police say the missing vehicle is a tan-colored 2005 GMC Safari. It has a Michigan (Persian Gulf) license plate of 7JCM9.

Anyone with information on that vehicle or the murders is urged to call Allen Park Police at (313) 386-7800.
