DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - Wayne County is turning to the web for an auction of roughly 13,000 tax-foreclosed properties in the county. It is the first time the county has gone online for this kind of auction.
The auction got underway today, and ends September 23rd.
Some of the bids for homes on the list start as low as $800.
To bid on the properties, people had to register in advance. But another auction will likely take place in October. Just over 200 people signed up for the current auction, so there will likely be many properties unsold.
The homes are spread out all across the county, with a heavy concentration in the city of Detroit.
The online auction is being run by bid4assets.com. To see a list of the properties, go to www.bid4assets.com/wayne .
