Four Canton schools no longer locked down due to police situation

CANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - Four elementary schools in the Plymouth-Canton District are no longer locked down because the a police situation that triggered it has ended.

The situation happened in the area of Ford Road and Sheldon Road. The schools affected were Bentley Elementary, Field Elementary, Eriksson Elementary and Hoben Elementary.

Police were searching for three armed individuals in the area. Officers now say all three men are in custody.

The search was connected to the armed robbery of a Verizon Wireless store at Ford Road and Sheldon that happened around 11:00 am.
