Gunman opens fire at bar in Wayne; one person injured

WAYNE, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police in the city of Wayne are investigating a shooting that happened early this morning at a bar.

The whole thing unfolded around 1:30 a.m. at the U.S. 12 Bar and Grill on Michigan Avenue.

A witness tell 7 Action News that there was a fight in the bar and several people were thrown out.

The witness says one person cam back and opened fire, hitting at least one person.

Police say one man was hit and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The gunman remains on the loose at this hour.

U.S. 12 Bar and Grill has released the following statement about the shooting:

The US 12 Family is deeply saddened by this morning’s incident.  We are thankful no one was seriously injured.  Going out to local food and beverage establishments is part of our social fabric. We have been doing business for 34 years and have never had something like this occur.  We want to thank local law enforcement for their quick response and investigation. We hope they will apprehend the person responsible for this cowardly action. We will continue to provide the safest environment possible for our guests. We want to thank our employees and guests for their continued support and are blessed no one was hurt seriously. We will be open as usual Sunday.
