HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Hamtramck Police have issued a warning after a 12-year-old boy reported that a man tried to grab him near Hanley International Academy on Monday around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon.
"I didn't want to get hurt," said Lamont Brown. "I was so afraid."
The 7th grader described the man as a white male in his middle twenties. He reportedly has dirty blond hair, is approximately 5'8" and weighs about 175 lbs. The suspect also has gages in his ears and a small goatee.
According to the child, the man got out of the passenger side of an older black Dodge Ram pickup. He says the man ran up behind him and grabbed the back of his jacket. The boy was able to break free and he ran away.
"I hope they get caught and I hope I never get scared like that again," said Lamont.
The Hamtramck Police Department is investigating, but is urging parents to be extra vigilant.
