HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Human bones found inside a burning abandoned home two weeks may be that of a young girl. Action News sources say the clothing on the remains and the victim’s shoes indicate the bones were not from an adult.
Fire crews discovered the bones shortly after they entered the house on Cortland. As they were puncturing the ceiling leading to the attic the remains fell down.
We’re told the bones were covered by children’s Jordache brand jeans. The shoes were also a smaller size.
Still investigators haven’t been able to pinpoint the age of the victim. A forensic anthropologist has been called by the Wayne County Medical Examiner to help to determine the identity, age and cause of death.
