BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - For the border patrol it may me one of their most important operations - being there for the family of a fallen comrade.

Monday at a Brownstown Township funeral home that was the mission of the dozens of agents who showed up in marked cars. They had to be there for the family of Brian Terry, the 40 year-old border patrol agent who was gunned down in the line of duty.

As predicted hundreds of people showed up to Brian’s visitation in Brownstown, just a stones throw from Flat Rock, his hometown. It was in this community that Brian began his career in law enforcement.

Brian served as a policeman in Lincoln Park and Ecorse. He eventually made his way down to Arizona to work as a border patrol agent. He was gunned down fighting bandits last Tuesday.

Brian was supposed to return home last Friday for the holidays.
