CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Farmington man has been charged in connection with the death of 25 year-old Shelby Gunn of Westland.

Authorities say 28-year-old Robert Bojaj was drunk when he rear-ended Gunn early Sunday morning on I-275 near Ford Road in Canton Township. Gunn was returning home from a babysitting job.

Bojaj was arraigned Monday via video link from jail. He's facing several charges including second-degree murder.

Sources tell Action News his blood-alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit. Bojaj was also injured in the crash, but came away with only minor injuries.

Witnesses say he was speeding down the freeway before he slammed into Gunn's car.

The accident shut down I-275 near Koppernick in Canton Township for several hours.

Police confirm witness accounts that the suspect's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before hitting Gunn's car.

Michigan State Police are looking for witnesses who can help with their investigation.
