(DETROIT) - For more than 130 years, the J.W. Westcott has been making deliveries along the Detroit riverfront.

The 45-foot-long tugboat is a contractor for the U.S. Postal Service. It was started in 1874 by Captain J.W. Westcott when he saw a need for supplies and other packages to be delivered to other ships.

"We are the only floating post office in the world that delivers specifically to ships while they are in motion," Fleet Captain Sam Buchanan told Action News.

The zip code for the boat is 48222. That's assigned specifically to the boat, not any piece of land.
