DEARBORN (WXYZ) - It was called an Interfaith Rally Against Hate and it drew hundreds to the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn Friday.

Participants denounced the killings of US. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi. And they spoke out against the anti-Islam film that reportedly sparked the assault on the American consulate.

"The Imams' Council of the Michigan Muslim Community Council condemns in the strongest terms the killing of US Ambassador Christopher Stevens in Libya and other embassy staffers. Islam strictly prohibits the killing or harming of diplomats and civilians under any circumstance", said Imam Mustapha Elturk in a statement.

Elturk went on to say, "We urge all Muslims to peacefully oppose any provocative or aggressive acts against their faith".
