DETROIT (WXYZ) - Judge Vonda Evans sentenced the men convicted in the murder of two Hamtramck women today. Passionate family members of the victims spoke out against the guilty men.
Evans called Brandon Cain the "Master of Doom" as she scolded him for leading others to commit the murders of Ashley Conaway and Abreeya Brown.
Conaway's sister lashed out against Cain and the other men during the sentencing hearings. She said he was a smart man who could have used his brilliance in better ways.
Cain will now face life in prison for murder as well as 20 to 50 years for torture, 3 to 15 years for imprisonment and additional time for felony firearms charges.
Judge Evans also called Reginald Brown an "architect of death" in the murders as she sentenced him to life in prison.
Brown received 20 to 50 years for torture and up to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment.
Authorities say Conaway and Brown were forced into a car trunk outside their Hamtramck home in February. Their bodies were discovered in March buried in a Detroit park.
The women were bound and shot in the head.
