(WXYZ) - Workers at McDonald’s had to stall a local mom coming through the drive thru after she appeared intoxicated and had two kids in the car.
7 Action News has learned that this is the third drunk driving arrest for the Redford mom.
38-year-old Sharon Bradley has been charged with a second felony for operating while intoxicated with an occupant under the age of 16-years-old.
Bradley and her 9-year-old daughter had been at Milford’s Camp Dearborn for the Labor Day Holiday when they left to get food just before 10 p.m. that Saturday night.
Bradley drove them and another 6-year-old child to the McDonald’s restaurant a mile down the road.
Employees told police they could not understand Bradley when she ordered because she slurred her words and then drove to the wrong drive thru window. One of the employees told police Bradley allegedly said, “I’m drunk, don’t tell anybody.”
The manager became concerned, especially with the two children in the car and called police.
Workers stalled Bradley by telling her to pull forward and wait for her order. She did and unknowingly waited for police.
Milford police said Bradley blew a .22 in her breathalyzer test which is almost three times the legal limit. She made bail two days later and then failed to show up to court on September 5.
When 7 Action News showed up at her home no one answered even though it appeared someone was there.
This is the third drunk driving arrest for Bradley. She was convicted of Unlawful Bodily Alcohol Content (UBAC) in 1992 in Woodhaven. Then in 2008 Bradley was convicted of an OWI in Dearborn Heights. She had her daughter with her in the vehicle at that time too.
Now the mom is a wanted woman since she didn’t show up to court last week. The bench warrant for her arrest was issued today.
Child Protective Services is involved in the case. Since this is Bradley’s second drunk driving incident with a child it is a felony.
If convicted, Bradley would face up to five years in prison. The prosecutor’s office said she did not get charged as a third felony OWI because the penalties are the same as a second felony OWI.
Bradley called 7 Action News late this afternoon and said she was advised not to do an interview with us, but she did tell us she is scared to death about what could happen to her and will do anything to keep her child. She said she did not know a warrant had been issued for her arrest.
