Mom in the pawn shop proposition story says it was just a joke

SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Monroe mom who allegedly offered herself and her daughter up for a sex act instead of a pawn shop payment says that did not happen and what did happen has been blown out of proportion.

She says she did say to the worker maybe they could go in the back and work something out as far as the payment but she says she was half joking, kind of flirting and never said anything about her 10-year-old daughter.

The pawn shop worker, Al Hassan says he knows what he heard, he says he is 100 percent sure she said she and her daughter would go in the back and perform a specific sex act and he's ready to go to court and testify to that if necessary. The mom says she never said that.

Southgate Police and Child Protective Services are still investigating, the child will be interviewed, the case appears to be far from over.

The mom says she is worried and doesn't know what will happen.
