New revelations show trouble in the Bashara marriage

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - While relatives have said Bob Bashara would never harm his beloved wife Jane, there is new information into what appeared to be a troubled marriage.

Jane Bashara was found murdered in her Mercedes Benz on Detroit's east side. It was determined that she had been strangled. Her husband is considered a "person of interest" in the case.

Investigators have been speaking with a woman who was romantically involved with Bob Bashara. She is a 50-year-old woman who works at Wayne State University.

Action News spoke with a former colleague at Wayne State where she used to work in the engineering department.

The colleague, who wished to remain anonymous, says Bashara would visit the office not for business, but just to see the woman.

The 7 Action News Investigators have also uncovered a real estate deal, in which it is believed Bashara was buying the other woman a home.

Bob Bashara reportedly put an offer on a house on Kensington Avenue in Grosse Pointe Park. The home is listed at $239,000 and is just blocks from the house where Bashara lived with his wife.

7 Action News Investigators have learned that police have subpoenaed the records for that deal.
