(DETROIT) AP - Wayne County voters will be given two ballots when casting votes in the November general election.

Clerk Cathy M. Garrett says the large number of state, county and local proposals before voters is the reason for the second ballot.  Candidate races will be on one ballot. The proposals on the other.

Garrett says the two ballots make it "more important than ever before for individuals to learn about what they are voting for" and that voters should view their sample ballots "to fully understand what will be on them when they vote at the polls or by absentee ballot."

Sample ballots can be found on the county's website and at local clerk offices.
