ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Romulus man is facing child pornography charges after being arrested on November 30.
Roger Hinson has been charged with possession, receipt and distribution of child pornography. He is accused of knowingly and willfully possessing and receiving child pornography and distributing child pornography over the internet.
In an affidavit filed in federal court, investigators say Hinson shared multiple pornographic images over the internet through a peer-to-peer file sharing site.
Investigators with the United State Customs Service say they were able to use a Department of Homeland Security Summons to trace the IP address of the computer sharing the files to Hinson.
Officials say they then obtained a search warrant for Hinson's home and found images of child pornography inside. Among the pictures was one of a three-year-old child that, investigators say, Hinson admitted he cared for part time.
