CANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - Ford Road was closed for hours Friday between Ridge Road and Napier in Canton due to a serious accident involving a semi-truck.
A 27-year-old woman from Canton was driving on Ford Road when she crossed over into the westbound lane and was struck head-on by a semi-truck driven by a 61-year-old man, according to police.
Police say the 27-year-old's car was then struck by a car driven by a 26-year-old woman. Fire crews had to extract the 27-year-old from her car and she was air-lifted to U-M Hospital in Ann Arbor. The 26-year-old was also transported to a local hospital.
Their conditions are unknown at this time. The driver of the semi-truck was treated at the scene.
Ford Road has since reopened.
