REDFORD TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) - Redford Township Police are investigating three separate incidents involving senior citizens who were tricked out of large sums of money.
Within the last three weeks, victims receive phone calls from someone identifying himself as a police offer looking for help in an investigation.
He then asks the victims to withdraw the money from their bank and to meet the “officer” at a location. Once they are at the location, the suspect takes the victim’s money and walks away.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years of age and wasn’t wearing a police uniform. He was wearing a badge on his belt during the last incident.
Anyone with information in these cases is asked to contact Detective William Hand (313) 387-2578.
