GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Sources are telling 7 Action News that the husband of a murdered Grosse Pointe Park woman is a person of interest in the case.
This revelation comes after 7 Action News learned that Bob Bashara was at the Grosse Pointe Park police station, set to undergo a polygraph with officers who are investigating his wife's murder.
Grosse Pointe Park Police Chief David Hiller is set to speak with reporters shortly. He is expected to officially name Bob Bashara a "person of interest" at that time.
Bashara left the police stations shortly after 9:00 p.m.
This is the second time in two days that Bob Bashara has spoken with investigators. He spent about an hour at the police station on Thursday. He did not undergo a polygraph at that time.
While Bashara was at the police station on Friday, police officers were at his home.
The death of Jane Bashara has been ruled as a homicide and it has been determined that she was strangled. Her body was found Wednesday morning in the back seat of her Mercedes Benz . the car was parked on Detroit's east side.
Bob Bashara had reported his wife missing at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“I got home about five after 8:00 and she wasn’t around and I relaxed and figured she was out running an errand. As nine and nine-thirty approached, I became much more concerned and I got more people involved. I called my kids to see if they had heard from her and they hadn’t. I had been calling her cell phone to find out and then as time got on I involved the police because I was concerned there might be something wrong," Bashara told 7 Action News on Thursday.
