INKSTER, Mich. (WXYZ) - An investigation is underway into a shooting that happened early Friday morning in Inkster.

Police responded to a call reporting a man with a gun at an apartment complex on the 4300 block on Moore Court. The complex is located near Inkster Road south of Michigan Avenue.

Inkster and Westland police responded to the call and confronted the suspect. That is when a shooting occurred.

The suspect was shot and taken to the hospital. Police have not released the details of the suspect's injuries, but say he is in critical condition.

Michigan State Police have taken over the investigation because officers from Inkster and Westland were involved.
