MELVINDALE, Mich., (WXYZ) - Police in Melvindale gave the all clear after taking away a grenade that was found in a home Monday morning.
The grenade was located on the 17600 block of Claranne.
It turns out that Melvindale Police say a woman was going through the belongings of her recently deceased husband, found the grenade and called police. The block was evacuated.
The evacuation was lifted after it was determined that the grenade was safe. Officials took it from the scene to destroy it.
The Airport Authority, Melvindale Police and firefighters all responded to the scene.
