TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Taylor Public Library reopened at 5:00 p.m. Monday after closing earlier in the day due to bed bugs.
Action News was told that someone visiting the library reported being bitten by a bed bug on Friday.
City officials immediately closed the building and called Orkin Pest Control. Pest control crews confirmed the presence of at least one bed bug in the computer room of the library and the area was spray-treated.
The library remained closed through the pest control treatments. By late afternoon pest control crews checked and found no sign of any additional bed bugs.
Earlier Monday, the following message was posted on the city's website:
"Please be advised that bed bugs have been found at the Taylor Public Library. The City has contacted a Certified Pest Control Operator, who is handling this issue... The Library will remain closed until Tuesday, October 25th. We apologize for any inconvenience."
