The daughter of Bob and Jane Bashara speaks out for the first time about her mom's murder

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich (WXYZ) - Bob Bashara's daughter Jessica says there is no way her dad is responsible for her mom's murder.

"Absolutely not," Jessica told ABC News's Andrea Canning in her first interview.

The 20-year-old college student says tells Canning they need to focus on finding out who killed her mom. She wants to remember her mother and the great person she was.

She knows her dad, Bob Bashara, has been named a person of interest in the case and she knows there have been many reports about her father's personal life.

However, she says that doesn't make her question him. Rather she feels bad for him and what he is going through.

Bob Bashara was with his daughter during the interview. He said he fears people will judge him because of all the publicity and reports about him.

Bashara says he had no reason to kill his wife. He said he believes Joe Gentz, the handyman who confessed to having a part in the murder, is responsible.

According to police sources, Gentz also told police Bob Bashara had a part in the murder as well.
