There will also be special displays and activities that will focus on the impact Parks and her actions had on our country.

These will include a special ceremony where  the United States Postal Service will honor her with a stamp . The stamp will also be on sale at the museum as part of a special First-Day-of-Issue dedication ceremony.

Visitors to the museum will also be able to sit inside the actual bus Parks was on when she refused to give up her seat in 1955. The simple act of defiance is viewed by many as triggering the modern Civil Rights movement.

Beginning at 11:00 am the National Day of Courage events will be streamed online for the public to view through a video player provided by Detroit Public TV.
