DETROIT (WXYZ) - Wayne County Commissioner Bernard Parker says he will step down from his post after serving since 1991. Parker says he may run for Detroit City Council.

Parker served during the days of former Wayne County Executive Edward McNamara when his office was under federal investigation.

Parker also has served through the current FBI investigation of Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano's administration.
