DETROIT(WXYZ) - Officials are urging cantaloupe lovers to throw away melons bought recently from the Indiana and Kentucky region.

A Salmonella outbreak is being traced back to Indiana-grown melons.

The outbreak has spread across 20 states killing 2 people in Kentucky and making about 150 others sick.

Officials are working to identify the distributors and retailers affected by the food-borne illness.

Watermelons are also being investigated as the source of a smaller Salmonella outbreak.
