(WXYZ) - The Better Business Bureau is warning people who uses devices powered by Google's Android operating system about fake versions of two popular apps.

At issue are counterfeit versions of Angry Birds Space and Instagram. The fake apps are Trojans packed with malware that will infect your device if downloaded.

The BBB says it's not easy to spot the infected apps because they look and operate just like the real programs.

In order to avoid downloading the fake apps you should only download them through Google Play, the official Android app store, and not an unofficial store.

You should also look for the correct developer for the apps. For Angry Birds Space it is listed as Rovio, for Instagram it is listed as Instagram.
