(WXYZ) - A Pinckney 6th grader is among the 50 finalists in Google's annual Doodle 4 Google competition.
Janae Marttinen was honored by Google during an assembly at her school, the Navigator School in Pinckney. She will represent Michigan in the voting, which includes one representative from each of the 50 states. Janae is in the 6 and 7 grade category.
Her doodle represents her vision of the future. She described it using the follow caption: If I could travel in time I'd visit the 2100's. I would visit the 2100's because I would love to see all of the cool things that will be made in the future.
Voting is now open on Google's Doodle 4 Google website . It will run through May 10 at 5:00 p.m.
The winning doodle will appear on Google's main page on May 18. The winner of the competition will get a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology grant for their school and number of other prizes. All of the finalists will receive a trip to New York City for the winner ceremony.
