(WXYZ) - Get excited music lovers because Twitter is turning up the volume with a new music app for all 200 million of its users.
And it allows you to see what your favorite artists and bands are listening to.
The Twitter app allows users to discover new music based on the people they follow.
A 'Now Playing' list shows you what music is popular among your tweeps while another chart shows what's popular among everyone on Twitter.
"You look at your Twitter app, you look at the people you're following, and it can show what their tracks are, etcetera. If you have one of the music subscription services like Spotify or R-Dio, you can listen to full tracks from within the Twitter app," says Wired New York Editor Joe Brown.
It also gives music lovers the chance to tap into the tastes of their favorite artists.
"If you click on that artist, it's going to take you to the people who that artist follows, and the musicians specifically. And that's, I think, the really powerful aspect of Twitter Music, because it allows you to see who influences the people that influence you," explained Brown.
Twitter's mobile music app is available right now for apple and is coming soon to Android. A web version is also currently available.

It arrives just three months after the launch of Twitter's video app - VINE - which allows users to tweet six-second videos.
