(WXYZ) - U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a Canadian scuba diver early Monday morning who was allegedly smuggling marijuana into the United States by crossing the St. Clair River.
Agents located the 24-year-old man after a resident called the Saint Clair County Central Dispatch and told them that someone swimming across the river near Marine City.
Cameras captured the man pulling what appeared to be a dry bag.
Border Patrol agents say they apprehended the man after he got out of the water near Marine City. They then discovered more than 8 lbs of marijuana in a watertight PVC cylinder tied to a seawall ladder.
