(WXYZ) - One person has died in a semi-truck accident that has closed down eastbound I-94 at Ecorse in Taylor.
Michigan State Police say the truck was carrying apples on I-94 eastbound around 8:20 p.m. on Friday when it left the roadway and hit a guard rail.
Witnesses tell police the truck then hit a utility pole and burst into flames. We have learned that the driver was killed.
MDOT cameras showed the truck engulfed in flames and fire crews are still on the scene.
The accident closed the freeway for nearly 12 hours Friday night into Saturday morning.
