WXYZ - Mother Nature's winter blast is just what snowboarders, skiers and sledders needed to get outside and enjoy the last bit of their holiday break.

Children and their parents spent much of the day sledding at Shiawassee Hill in Farmington where I was fully unprepared to sled down the hill with them, but did so anyway.

In White Lake, multiple slopes at Alpine Valley continue to attract a large and growing number of snowboarders.

Alpine Valley makes their own snow, but a good snowfall always sparks a trip to the popular destination in Oakland County.

For more information on Alpine Valley, visit their website at www.skialpinevalley.com .
