13-month-old boy hit by truck in driveway, dies

GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 13-month-old suburban Detroit boy has died after being struck by a pickup truck that pulled into a mid-Michigan driveway.

The Clare County sheriff's department says Kyle John-Edward Counts of Royal Oak was in the driveway of a home Sunday in Greenwood Township when a 57-year-old man pulled a 2002 Dodge Ram into the driveway and struck the child. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's department says the boy was visiting relatives. The driver wasn't taken into custody. The sheriff's department was investigating.
